Music Monday

Hey what's up it's me Dell. So today is music Monday. So what song am I highlighting today, well I just purchase butterflies (remix) by Marsha Ambrosius. This is another version of the original hit by Michael Jackson. But it's not like the one that Floetry covered. This one is a more up tempo beat and a song that you can really grove to. Marsha displays how talented she is once again. This sisters has some pipes on her, anyway the song is good same lyrics but a new beat. Everyone should get this and buy her album that is out now on iTunes. She is one of the many artist that is bringing back that R&B song that was gone for so long. So check it out, trust me you won't be disappointed.

Hot or not: Deep V neck shirts

Hey what's up. Its me Dell. And I have a question for you. What are your thoughts on deep v neck shirts. It you don't know what it is, it is a regular v neck shirt but the v in the neck is deeper. More of the chest is exposed. Honestly I think they are ok. I personally do not own any. But I might purchase one in the near future. They are obviously not made for everyone. It looks like it's made for guys with at least some kind of chest. It's not meant to hang on your flat chest. Especially if you want to show off your pecks. So I ask you again, hot or not?

Have you ever: Purchased something without looking at the price?

Dear World,


If you know me or has been out shopping with me, then you know that I tend to sometimes grab stuff to buy without even looking at the price. Sometimes my friends would say, "Oh snap, big spender". I just laugh and say that you only live once. And it's true, you cannot say that you you are living to the fullest and you have never splurged on something for yourself. But my situation is different simply because I do this kind of thing often. I cannot help it, when you see something you really want, it doesn't matter how much it cost. But I cannot do this all the time. There has been times that I had to make an adult decision and not purchase what o wanted until I could really afford it. But if you know like I know most things that you spent a good amount of money on is most likely to last longer than the cheaper items. I believe that most times you have to take a risk when shopping for anything not just clothes. And this philosophy hasn't failed me yet. What do you think about this? Have you ever done this before? Will you ever try this? Tell me what you think because I would live to know.

Have You Ever? : Try on clothes at a store and rip it?

Dear fashion enthusiast,

Well I ask you this question have you ever tried ob clothes in a store and rip it?
I know, crazy, right? While this has never happen to me, this is something nobody would want to happen to them. There are a million things going on in your head. Do you buy the ripped item? Do you tell one of the store employees what happen? Do you pretend that it never happen at all? Or do you pretend that it was ripped when you tried it on?. I hope I never have to experience this... Or something happens that's worst. You accidentally stain the clothes. I know you are wondering how something like that would happen. But I tell you this 2011 and anything is possible. So a word from the wise shopper, be careful out there on your shopping expeditions.

Would You Rather? : Long Hair or Short Hair

Dear Fashion Enthusiast,

I have always wanted to know what you thought about this....Short Hair or Long Hair?  Well to let you into my past.  I had long hair twice, once when I was a small child and again when I was in high school.  So I know what it is to have both( at least from a man's point of view).  Having short hair is easy.  Seeing as there is not much hair there so there are not many hair styles to do unless you have a short hair and and not a buzz cut like I do.  I enjoy not having to do my hair most days, until it starts to grow out. Now do not get me wrong, I did enjoy having long hair.  It was fun having hair down my back blowing in the wind.  I had it braided most of the time but when I blew it out I kind of look like a troll doll.   But ladies do what you want, let it hang down or put it bus.  To each its own.

Today is follow Friday.  This Friday's shootout goes to @mrbradgoreski. This is one guy who knows his clothes.  You may know him from the Rachel Zoe Project (love her).  But now he is doing his own thing and still looking very stylist.  I want to dress like him when I grow up. 

Have You Ever? : Purchase something you didn't want at first?

Dear fashion enthusiast,

Hey whats up?  How are you?  Well I wanted to ask you something.....  Have you ever purchase something you didn't want at first?  I know I have, I do it a lot.  I really cannot explain it but when I go shopping I tell myself what I am going to buy.  Then all of a sudden I'm holding about five extra items in my hands that I didn't intend on buying.  Or if I'm out just to get a new shirt or something, I walk pass a store and something in the window catches my eye and the next thing I know I'm in the store swiping my card buying something else.  Do I have a problem?  I don't think I do.  Look at it like this.....  Its extra walking and exercising walking in, around, and out that store.  Which is always good for things like diabetes or cholesterol.  A good percentage of my wardrobe has been something that I didn't want at first.  Sometimes when you shop you should take a risk.  If not then why waste the time if you are not going to spoil yourself once in awhile.  We all owe it to ourselves, especially during these sad times.  Now don't misinterpret what I'm saying and go broke, in the poor house blaming me.  Just every now and then buy one extra item and take a chance.  Whats the worst that can happen.

Hot or Not : Trucker Hats

Dear fashion enthusiast,

Hey whats up people. Well its that time again. I ask you, what do you think about trucker hats? Well they were nice back then. I am not a big fan, but don't let me change your mind. But anyways, what do you think  about trucker hats.  What does it do for your look? Now I do own variations of it but not trucker hats.  Ashton Kutcher popularized them years ago.  Von Dutch came out with a line of hats that almost everyone was wearing (I think I even had one for a short period and realize i didn't like it), then they gradually just went away and almost disappeared altogether.  All except actual truckers, of course.  If you want to look like you don't really care or a more relaxed look then this could be a possible choice of headwear.  So what is the verdict on trucker hats....HOT or not?

Would You Rather? : Tweed Coat or Puffer Coat

Have you ever had to been in a store and had to decide between getting a tweed coat or a puffer coat. So i ask you would you rather buy a wool coat or a puffer coat?  Now before you make any final decision, weigh out your options and go down your list of pros and cons. Well a tweed coats are great but i can be a little bias because i own two tweed coats. But anyways, they are really warm, and usually thick. The lining is usually simple but the more expensive ones are lined with other material( my hood is lined with wool).  They can also come in many colors ( so can puffers), some even come in plaid. You can have a long one or a short one. For better function you can also get one that is doubled breasted. Trust me it has worked in my favor. With a puffer coat, its obviously puffy and big. Most times the good ones tend to last longer. Most times it can be easily cleaned if there is a stain, unlike a tweed coat which has to be taken to the cleaners. But if you do decide to wash it completely, then i recommend that you have it professionally cleaned.  Well these are just some things to think about the next time you go coat shopping (its still winter). The good and the bad can be different for each person, so make the right choice for you. Until next time......The streets are your runway, so make every second count (I know I do).

It Does Not Really Matter

Hey whats up? Now i know you probably read the title and said what is talking about well let me explain. Have you ever been all hung up on what the latest trends are and who is wearing what at the moment? Well I'm here to tell you that is does not really matter. I know in the past I have said what is hot at the time and what was the latest trends ( I still might do it again ). But every now and then you just have to say it does not really matter. Who cares if leggings or jeggings for that matter are hot right now. Or that yellow might be the color for the spring. Its all about how you feel when you wear your clothes. Do not let your neighborhood predict what your style is. I know i don't and that is mainly why I look as good as I do if not better than most people around me. Take London's fashion scene for example, not one person looks like the person standing next to them. They define their own style, and not let their style define them. And you can still look good while you are doing this. I'm not saying go to work or school everyday looking like Lady GaGa, but be an individual. But look at what see does, she wears what she wants and not care what the next person might say. Be fearless when it comes to fashion. And do not be afraid to suffer for your fashion, because I know do not mind suffering every now and then. Do not become a carbon copy of the person sitting right next to you. A wise person once said, being normal is highly overrated. And they were 100 percent right. If we cannot have something to ourselves can we at least have our own individual style.

tired and still looking good

Hey whats up? Have you ever been so tired that you do not feel like being bothered with picking out an outfit for the day? Well, I know I’m not the only one. So here is what you do about that problem. I figured this out by watching the kids in my neighborhood. Most of them wear uniforms, so I figured why can’t I do the same thing. It’s simple, you already have a outfit picked out. We don’t have to follow it exactly. What you can do is choose a simple bottom like khakis or blue jeans. Then the rest is up to you, you can wear a white top like they do or switch it up and wear a graphic tee. Sometimes what i do is wear at least three different color tops with my pants. I try to stick to wearing black, white, and blue. Then if I’m not wearing a simple black sneaker or boot, it matches my top. At first it may sound confusing but once this is all figured out then its time to accessorize. I love to accessorize, and people there are more options out there for women then it is for men.  Accessories complete your out fit. You have on a simple but cute but your accessories take up one more level. Trust me it works, i get compliments all the time about how good I look. It’s not hard, its just another one of my fool proofs fashion solutions that work. Just create a uniform for yourself that way at least this part of your day is not so stressful and you can go on worrying about more important things like what to wear for your date later tonight. Looking fabulous in 2011

Hey guys, happy new year to everyone. Hell now that it is a new year, it is time to live it up and look good while doing it. And here is how you do it. First, think of a look for your hair that represents you. Whether its short, long, or none at all rock it with style and own it. Then once you figure that out then think of what style you like or maybe you want to try something out. But if its going to be your overall style for 2011, you might want to figure this out asap. I cap go on and on about the various looks but we can save that for a future post. Another thing you can do is think of what your color is going to be. It can be the same as 2010, but as i said before own your look. Thats what its all about. if you ever get stuck you can always turn to some of my favorite stores( mentioned in previous post). They will definitely give you some inspiration and will help you zero in one what 2011 style wise will look like for you. Lets all make a new year resolution to alway look good. Stay fabulous.
